DISCUSSION AGENDA:

  • AGRESSIVE DOGS: On October 11th a dog was severely maimed while playing with 2 pitbulls. One pit apparently had just had a litter and the 2 pits were a bonded pair.  After the incident was broken up with great difficulty the lady with the pitbulls left the park quickly while the owner of the maimed dog rushed her pet to an emergency vet. No information was exchanged so keep aware of your dog’s interactions with a team of pits to prevent any reoccurrence.

Measures taken:

    • Redo existing and add new signage warning about not bringing aggressive dogs into the park.
    • Discussion of making sure all tactics to stop dog fights are available and people aware, this includes:
      • At doggie bag stations
        • Spray bottles with vinegar
        • Whistles
      • Keep a close eye to step in and protect your dog if interacting with potentially aggressive dogs.
      • I always break off interaction if a more powerful dog is getting too aggressive around my mama’s boy poodle or step in when an aggressive dog is unreasonably harassing a young dog.
  • Updates on construction activity and park improvement of the GIANT puddle- Contact is going to be established with COA and a park meeting arranged by Frances, Shak and Sylvia
  • Treasury report-Available upon request
  • how to donate a bench- Previous knowledge seemed to indicate that people sitting are looking at their phones and not closely watching their dogs.
